Florida DE Visits USA
In the last week of June, South Alabama received a visit from 6'2, 220lb defensive end Courtney Wright of Coral Gables, FL. Only playing his first year of organized football, Wright had an outstanding junior year with 15 sacks, 86 tackles, 41 solo tackles,4 forced fumbles, 2 fumbles recoveries, 2 blocked field goals and 24 tackles for a loss. Now about 25lbs heavier after an offseason of football workouts, Wright is looking forward to a great senior season. JagsJungle.com caught up with him via text to ask about his recruiting.
When asked about his visit to USA, Wright said the visit went "Really good. Had a great time. Academic-wise it had what I wanted. It also had a family feeling where everyone wanted to help you, you just had to do the work. The coaches seemed great."
Currently Wright has offers from South Alabama and Illinois State along with interest from MTSU, Navy, FAU, UCF and others.
South Alabama appears to be a top contender for his services at this time. Wright hopes to make a decision by the first week of August or the end of summer, so it may not be long before we know where the talented defender is headed.
